| I guess I should be ashamed of myself. I haven't made an entry in a VERY long time. I can't say that nothing interesting has been going on because that's not completely true. My life is far from boring. So, no excuse except that blogging has been at the bottom of my list and just kept getting pushed down farther and farther.
So, one big thing...my youngest broke both of her arms. Yes, both of them. They were doing volleyball drills in PE, running backwards. Micah tripped and tried to catch herself. It was quite traumatic but she's fine now. She has two bright pink casts on. You can see a pic at www.theweygandts.net.
Let's see...what else? Oh, yeah! I'm directing 3 plays between now and December. Yes, I said 3! Why? Right now I'm asking myself that same question. The first one is the sequel to "If The Good Lord's Willing And The Creek Don't Rise" that ran in May at Grace International School. It's going to be a lot of fun mainly because we bringing my favorite character, "Doc", back to the stage. The show is called, "Doc's Holiday". It's a Christmas play but due to the fact that December is crazy at the school, the performances are scheduled for the end of November. The second play is "Alice in Wonderland". I am directing the Homeschool Co-op Drama students in this fun show. We are planning the performances for December 8 and 9. And finally, we are doing "The Bethlehem Project" at church. This is a children's musical. The good thing is that I will have a lot more help with this one than with the others. And somewhere in there I need to work with the XTTV club. We need to get going on developing a project before our producer, Tom, gets back from the US. Oh, yeah...I'm also working on my Personal Fitness Trainer Certification. I've become a HUGE fan of fitness and nutrition!
So, needless to say, I'm going to be incredibly busy for the next few months. Don't be surprised if it's a while before you hear from me again!

| Dress rehearsal was a success. Now, we only have a few days until Opening Night. As much fun as it's been, I'm looking forward to the end. I hope to post some pics of the show when it's all over. Don't want to do it now. Might give too much away. One of our actors makes an unbelievable transformation for his role, I want it to be a surprise. We just finished shooting the Pilot for XTTV and only have some B-roll and Voice Overs left to do. Yeah! So, with a little bit of free time I thought I would give you a little background info about myself. Let's see... I'm from Oklahoma and moved to Thailand 5 years ago. My husband works for The Voice of the Martyrs. I have more than 20 years of Theater experience both onstage as an actress and offstage as a Director. I got involved in filmmaking 8 years ago. My first feature length screenplay "Soiled Doves" was a finalist in the Barebones International Film Festival and my first short film, "Edges" was screened at the same festival a year later. Since then I have been involved in several short films, a few feature length productions and a couple of video series as an actress, writer, director or producer. My latest project is called RGB. It was collaborative effort between myself, a director from Croatia and Brazil. It was screened at the New York Film and Video Festival in Sept. of last year. I also teach filmmaking and drama and have directed all the stage productions at Grace (5 total). I will post pics from my various projects sometime. OK, that's all for now!

| I am extremely busy! It's hard to believe that I even have a free moment to make an entry. For the past 5 years I have directed the Spring stage productions at Grace. This year we are doing, "If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek Don't Rise". A VERY funny show. Tomorrow is Dress Rehearsal and it's going to be a long day. Our main actor will have to come early for make-up. He is supposed to be an old man so we are applying a bald cap and aging make-up. Is it too much to hope that it will only take a couple of hours? The set has also caused some stress. After weeks of rehearsals we discovered that we had misjudged the actual size of the set so we've now lost 4 feet off the back and 2 off the sides. My poor students are going to have to figure out how to make blocking adjustments on thier own. There will be an audience for the Dress Rehearsal so there's no time for them to feel thier way through the set. In addition to the play, I am the Executive Director of XTTV (Xtreme Teenz Television) and we have been busy shooting our pilot episode. and I also teach Filmmaking and my students are in the middle of a shoot. Things should be slowing down soon, though. I hope. Well, that's all for now. I have some last minute props to find for tomorrow! | | |
